Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are placed in several positions across the respective hospital, from administrative to clinical positions. Tasks may include escorting patients to their destination, providing clerical assistance, restocking supplies, cleaning equipment, rounding on patients, or helping nurses with caring for patients.
Only accepting Spanish-speaking volunteers, Julia’s Center is a non-profit clinic for the indigent, where many roles can be fulfilled, such as scribes, translators, and MAs. Volunteers will be expected to know how to speak medical Spanish, take vitals, and triage.
Volunteers can participate in a wide range of activities, from office support and event planning to giving talks in classes about the importance of mental health. There are a wide range of classes that educate people on mental health conditions and how they can seek recovery, including youth and military education.
Volunteers are paired with a child on the spectrum or a sibling based on their comfort level so that their parents/guardians have time to rest, go on a date, grocery shop, etc.
